I don't know if people have known about this for ages and are sick of it by now, but I just encountered a short computer game called Facade which is the only thing I've ever seen on a computer that is actually a role-playing game in any more than an extremely limited, Monkey Island sense (Final Fantasy is NOT a role-playing game because what makes a role-playing game is playing a fucking role, NOT fucking experience points and fucking stat points!). It's not perfect but extraordinarily ambitious, fascinating and free. Anybody who likes RPGs and has a computer should download it and play it, several times. PC version linked to above, Mac port here.

But... how else do you know you're playing it right? :)

Damn right, it's about choosing the right Character Class, Cleric.

Although I must admit that is a very interesting looking game. I hope this ancient PC is actually able to run it.

Well, you are playing a role, the role of a munchkin running around to get XP and level up...

Of course if you want real Role Playing Games, then you should run another of your brilliant Heavy Gear games ;)
